Tuberculosis

Disease: Tuberculosis, (TB) is an infectious disease that usually affects the lungs, though it can affect any organ in the body.

Mode of transmission: TB is spread from person to person through the air.

Causative pathogen: Bacterium, TB can be fatal, but in many cases, it is preventable and treatable

Preventive measures:

Vaccination : The vaccine called Bacillus Calmette-Guerin (BCG) was first developed in the 1920s.

Signs and Symptoms: A persistent cough, lasting at least 3 weeks, may have blood in it, when they cough, a loss of appetite and weight, a general feeling of fatigue and being unwell, swelling in the neck, fever and night sweats
